ARE WATERFORD BOOTCAMPS FOR YOU?

Waterford bootcamps are all the rage these days. You will hear about them in tons of fitness magazines, newspaper articles, and in the locker room at your fitness center. People who like bootcamps are a little like marathon runners or yoga participants in that they become somewhat crazed about their newfound form of exercise. For many people, it was a long road to find an exercise routine they genuinely liked. Bootcamps appeal to the person who likes to break a sweat, stick to basic moves, and thrive in a group environment. If discipline has been a problem for you in the past, then a bootcamp just might be the whip to get you cracking again. Whether you have 20 pounds to lose or you just want to maintain your current level of fitness, Waterford bootcamps offer strenuous exercises that will challenge your mind and body.

Bootcamps vary greatly from place to place. Some classes are held outdoors at a park, while others are held indoors. You may work without any equipment at all, or you may work with “props” like tires, climbing ropes, exercise balls, and resistance bands. You might have a 4-8 week class or an ongoing program. Some coaches are more “military style” than others. Regardless of how the class is structured, one thing is common among all Waterford bootcamps: you will use strength training, muscular endurance training, and cardiovascular exercises – and you will burn loads of calories working on completely different regimens each time!

You can expect to be doing everything from sprinting and push-ups to plyometric exercises and interval training movements, with very short breaks between sets. Squats, lunges, core strengthening sit-ups, partner exercises, team competitions, and obstacle courses are common in Waterford bootcamps. You’ll perform tests at the beginning, middle and end of your program to gauge how your fitness is improving.

One problem with bootcamps is that a variety of people enroll, so it may be difficult to ensure everyone stays on the same page. Some people will need to up the intensity, while others may need to give themselves a breather. The best coaches stroll around the room and help people as the class progresses. They give pointers on how to make each exercise more or less challenging, allowing people to choose what they feel most comfortable doing. Aim for Waterford bootcamps with 15 people or less for the most one-on-one interaction.
