THREE STORIES FROM A WALLED LAKE WEIGHT LOSS CENTER

Here at our Walled Lake weight loss center, we meet some pretty sensational people. Even though we understand what it takes to lose weight, we’re still surprised at the way people manage to find that something inside themselves that enables them to lose a tremendous number of pounds. The best part about these Walled Lake weight loss center stories is not only that these people are healthier, but also that their outlook on life has improved as well.

WEIGHT LOSS PARTICIPANT #1
An overweight actor came to us, tired of being “the funny fat guy” in every movie. It seemed he could never break out and become the serious main character he desired. He wanted “in” on the carefree lifestyle his thin friends seemed to enjoy. It took him 7 months to learn about making the right food choices, exercising portion control and adding 5-6 mile runs to his life, but he was able to lose 60 pounds!

WEIGHT LOSS PARTICIPANT #2
We also saw a 45-year-old actress and comedian who made her living off fat jokes. Deep down, it hurt her to realize that her blood pressure and cholesterol levels were through the roof. At 267 pounds, she dreamed of being a size 10 or 12, not a size 26 or 28. To reach her goal to be on Broadway, she knew she had to get serious to get off her medications. She biked, walked 8 miles every morning, started taking Zumba and daily aerobics classes, and changed her diet. It wasn’t always easy, she admits. She dropped the first 30 pounds easily, but gained a little back. Before she knew it, though, people were commenting on how good she looked and she was donating over 25 bags of clothing to local charities. She got down to a size 10 after losing more than 104 pounds, all told.

WEIGHT LOSS PARTICIPANT #3
We also saw a serial dieter who had reached nearly 250 pounds. This teacher was always hiding behind long skirts and black clothes. She had been on the Smart For Life Cookie Diet when we met her, eating just six oatmeal raisin cookies and a protein-filled dinner each day. We got her into biking, healthy snacking, controlling her portions better, and avoiding those “second dinners” at 10 or 11 at night. At 52 years old, she is now 100 pounds lighter and one thousand times’ happier.
